Spoonies

I picked up a few things from my local supermarket yesterday. Being in a neighbourhood that has lots of public housing with tenants in a low socio-economic bracket, I have witnessed some interesting things in the past while I've been shopping:

A woman shoplifting something screamed until the security guard let her go. It was quite a scene. Another guy tried to steal some painkillers and got caught, they let him go after they retrieved the pills.

One morning a girl was frantically swiping card after card through the EFTPOS machine at the counter. The check-out chick pretended to help. I couldn't work out what was going on until I realized that the customer had stolen a shitload of gift vouchers from the post office, not realising they needed to be activated before you could redeem their value. It was quite hilarious when she gave up and started reading the instructions.

Yesterday I heard a woman (who sounded a bit drunk) say to her friend: They sell smokes but they don't fuckin' sell spoons, come on.

I couldn't help but laugh

Last night at a dinner party I heard one of the guests say:

I told my mum she's not allowed to ring me if she's drunk and using the computer.

That cracked me up.

Best Friday Ever

For the last 5 years Chris and I have made a habit of breaking away from our Christian upbringings by eating (forbidden) lambchops for breakfast on Good Friday, and backing it up with a shitload of booze etc*.

It has always been a very exclusive gathering with no more than 6 or so people attending. This year we had about 15 participants (most of whom could walk home within 5 minutes) and people were encouraged to dress up if they felt so inclined.

It was rather debaucherous. 16 hours after it started I collapsed into bed and it took a good few days to recover. Thank little baby Jebus for the Easter long weekend.

One of our guests took a shitload of photos, most of which were out of focus, although none of us could tell at the time.

Here are a select few which I think capture the day.

Good Friday is by far my favourite day of the year.

Another post?

It seems I have the blogging bug again.

The walls are a bit bare in the new place. I put up my Jesus pictures but the command adhesive didn't like my wall and one of them smashed. I took this as a sign to make my own art.

Here is a triptych that I have created. I intend on enlarging each image to about 600mm when we get our new fancy large format printer at work.

Long time between drinks; Tim's triumphant return to blogging.

I'm back. I don't know why I've been away from blogging for so long. I guess iI just couldn't be bothered. It's not that my life hasn't been filled with ups and downs, or even quirky things that would have made for good reading, I just wasn't in the mood for sharing it all.

Here is a quick recap of what's gone on in the last couple of months.

I got my tattoo finished and I am completely in love with it, it took 6 hours all up, but it was well worth it.

I was that guy at the work Xmas paryt and I'm still struggling to get over it.

Xmas break was 10 days, most of which was spent visiting Lucy (in the sky with diamonds if you get my drift. *wink wink* *nudge nudge*)

Work was really busy in January but I got over it.

Bjork cancelled the concert I was supposed to see her at (The Big Day Out), but I did manage to see Silverchair, Carl Cox, LCD Sound System, Krafty Kuts, Bluejuice, Martini Club, Grafton Primary, Soft Tigers.. and loads of others I can't really remember.

I also went to Good Vibrations festival where I saw Thievery Corporation (they made me forget about Bjork), Calvin Harris, and the Rapture. The best part of the festival (besides Thievery) was hanging out with new friends, Bongo, Spliffy and Stompy... I love those guys :)

The last few weeks have been taken up with moving house. I am officially all grown up. I got the only 1 bedroom place in Alexandria for under $300 and it almost feels like home. I still need to get used to all the new noises but once I do that (and get the internet connected) I'll be living in hermit-heaven

I have done some other quirky blog-worthy stuff (which I took photos of with the intention of uploading, but I never got around to it) but the one thing that I am so very proud of is my latest Ebay purchase, my glow-in-the-dark toilet seat. I shit you not (pun intended)

I don't need to flick the light on and burn my sensitive retinas when I take a 3am wizz, the bathroom is illumnated by my fancy toilet seat. Jealous? I bet.

I watched the Bugs Bunny movie when I was visiting Lucy and this part made my night.
